| Wish For Africa Mission River State Nigeria. (4th - 11th April 2009) The medical mission week was a short-term medical intervention collaboration between four bodies namely; The Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA), The Empowerment Support Initiative founded by the First Lady of Rivers State - Her Excellency - Mrs Judith Amaechi, The Rivers State Ministry of Health and Wish For Africa. The objective of the medical mission is to offer FREE medical and surgical treatments to the populace and skills transfer and training, in order to further strengthen the human resources manpower of the state by bringing medical professionals from overseas to work alongside local teams of doctors and nurses in Nigeria! Rivers State Mission Week Report: 7 Surgeons, 6 Paediatricians, 12 UK volunteers (Doctors, Nurses/Midwives, Theatre Managers and a Pharmacist) + over 20 local volunteers = 135 FREE operations, 483 kids and 821 adults received FREE treatments over 4 days!
