Ncwala Festival (first fruits)

In Swaziland, the Ncwala Festival (first fruits) is the most important and colourful occasion of the year, held in December. The Swazi people have a strong allegiance to their king who forms the central focal point of this festival. It is a chance to honour the royal family as a source of fertility for the country. This is quite apt as the late King Sobhuza had over 100 wives and 600 children!

Are Celebrity Fashion Lines Still Relevant?

Turns out Jennifer Lopez’s fashion line SWEETFACE is going on an indefinite hiatus.

Bummer. I really loved the oversized sweaters, cute leggings and sexy dresses but I have to tell ya, the $200+ price points were a little difficult to stomach.

News of the collection coming to a sreeching hault made me start thinking about what other “celebrity” collections have walked or are walking a thin line. Marie Claire UK notes Mandy Moore’s Mblem and Lauren Conrad’s eponymous jersey dress collection died a quick death.
